Mike Miller

Mike Miller is a partner in Solberg, Stewart, Miller & Tjon in Fargo, ND. He joined the law firm in 1977, became a partner in 1981 and currently is the senior litigation partner. Mike’s practice includes mass tort litigation, wrongful death and personal injury. He currently represents clients in mass tort cases involving Accutane, Vioxx, tainted body tissue, Fosamax, Medtronic defective leads and hormone replacement therapy such as Prempro. He previously represented hundreds of people who settled or litigated Fen Phen claims.

Mike recently settled over 1,000 individual personal injury cases for people who were injured as a result of a huge anhydrous ammonia spill arising out of a Canadian Pacific Railroad derailment in Minot, ND. He was the lead counsel on the only jury trial in the derailment litigation and his two clients were awarded over $1 million dollars. Mike also was plaintiffs’ counsel in the class action settlement with the Canadian Pacific Railroad.

Most recently, after extensive litigation, he and other members in his firm settled two serious personal injury cases including a crane head-ball accident case and a railroad crossing wrongful death case. In the past 8 years, Solberg, Stewart, Miller and Tjon have obtained settlements or verdicts for their personal injury clients exceeding $80,000,000 (80 million dollars).

Mike is admitted to practice in the State of North Dakota, in the United States District Courts in North Dakota and Minnesota, in the 8th and 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Cass County Bar Association, North Dakota Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. In 2007 and in 2008 he has been named a “Great Plains Super Lawyer”.
