Ortho Evra birth control Patch lawsuits

Ortho Evra Birth Control PatchJohnson and Johnson has paid over $60 million to settle lawsuits filed by hundreds of women who suffered blood clots, heart attacks or strokes after using the Ortho Evra birth control patch. The FDA announced it was engaged in a safety review of the Ortho Evra patches. Evidence indicates that women using the Ortho Evra patch are exposed to approximately 60 percent more estrogen than those women using traditional birth control pills.

A recent NBC News report indicated that NBC News had obtained private internal documents from Johnson & Johnson which suggest the company knew about an increased risk of death in connection with using the birth control patch, but put women in danger anyway.
