Stacey Tjon Bossart

Stacey joined the firm as an associate attorney in November of 1996. She became a partner in January of 2000 and a full partner in January of 2007. Stacey practices in numerous the areas of the law including:  class action lawsuits, having worked on behalf of Plaintiffs and Defendants in various matters, personal injury cases, medical negligence cases, general litigation, probate, and wills.

Her class action/mass tort work includes: the litigation resulting from the Minot train derailment and anhydrous ammonia spill; litigation involving pharmaceutical drugs and devices such as Avandia, Accutane, Medtronic, Prempro, Baycol, Rezulin, Propulsid and Fen Phen; litigation against Pharmacy Benefit Management companies; defense of the City of Fargo, North Dakota in a 42 U.S.C. 1983 action with allegations of Constitutional violations; and, defense of various manufacturers and distributors in on-going asbestos litigation. Stacey also serves as a consulting attorney for the Hector International Airport Authority.

Stacey is licensed to practice in the States of North Dakota and Minnesota, as well as the United States District Court for the Districts of North Dakota and Minnesota and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Board of Governors of the North Dakota Association for Justice, a member of the American Association for Justice and the Order of Barristers.  Stacey is a past President of the Cass County Bar Association and recently served, by appointment, on a selection committee for an upcoming judicial vacancy in Cass County, North Dakota.

A Fargo native, Stacey graduated cum laude from Moorhead State University, Moorhead, Minnesota, in 1993, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in French, which she studied for 12 years. She attended the University of North Dakota School of Law, graduating “with distinction” in 1996.

While in law school, Stacey served on the North Dakota Law Review Board and published a law review article entitled “Civil Rights-The Constructive Discharge Doctrine and It’s Applicability to Sexual Harassment Cases: Does it Matter What the Employer Intended Anymore? Hukkanen v. International Union of Operating Engineers, 3 F.3d 281 (8th Cir. 1993).” She likewise obtained the honor of Best Respondent Oralist and Best Respondent Team during the 1995 intra-school Moot Court competition. Following this, Stacey went on to compete in the national Moot Court competition.
